dingsi: The Corinthian smoking a cigarette. He looks down thoughtfully and breathes the smoke out of his nose. (i didn't know which icon to pick!)
[personal profile] dingsi
... created for Tumblr accounts:

[syndicated profile] fy_robins_feed: "Robin: Making Batman Look Good Since 1940." Fuck Yeah, Robins! posts scans, fanart, and official art about any of Batman's Robin sidekicks (i.e. Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Damian Wayne, Stephanie Brown, and Carrie Kelly).

[syndicated profile] eyesmightbite_feed: New. Eyes Might Bite is dedicated to the Corinthian, from Neil Gaiman's Sandman comics (and its spin-offs). Posts scans, quotes, general info, fan art, and fic links.

My longtime friend Steve in England takes the most beautiful photographs of nature. He is entirely self-taught. I have made an rss syndication journal here at Dreamwidth for anyone who would like to subscribe to it to view Steve's latest uploads to his Flickr. He has been pretty active lately. The BBC even chose him for one of their features! :) The feed is located here:

[syndicated profile] carnagevisors_feed

Enjoy!

Hi,

I just created a feed for Tree Lobsters (you can't prove they don't exist) at
http://tree-lobsters-feed-feed.dreamwidth.org/profile
It typically updates every three days.
sid: (Sid in the moon)
[personal profile] sid
Hi! I created two feeds recently:

http://historyclassstuff-feed.dreamwidth.org/profile: Stuff you missed in history class.

These are 10-15 minute long podcasts on various and eclectic subjects such as Michelangelo, the Medici, the history of Vaudeville.

And http://the-onion-feed.dreamwidth.org/profile: Twitter updates from The Onion, a mock newspaper.

If you subscribe to this, don't click on the Twitter URLs, but the 2nd URL beneath those. A few samples: Exhibitionist Zoo Elephants Waiting For Crowd To Gather Before Screwing (picture); Mean Scientists Dash Hopes Of Life On Mars (article); Taco Bell's Five Ingredients Combined In Totally New Way (audio)

[syndicated profile] gabestwitter_feed - the twitter account of Gabe Saporta, Cobra Starship
katemonkey: Cougar looks downwards his face obscured in darkness and his cowboy hat. (robots need love too)
[personal profile] katemonkey
[syndicated profile] goodshowsir_feed - Good Show, Sir, a collection of bad sci-fi/fantasy book covers found in second-hand bookshops, with snarky commentary.
katemonkey: A man in robot costume made of cardboard boxes holds up a 'Free Robot Sex' sign (free robot sex)
[personal profile] katemonkey
[syndicated profile] frakkinggeekster_feed - Look at this Frakking Geekster, a Tumblr pointing out nerdy hipsters all over (occasionally not safe for work)
[syndicated profile] spritestitch_feed - Sprite Stitch, focused on video game-themed crafts
[syndicated profile] gypsycreams_feed - Gypsy Creams, scans of advertisements in old UK magazines
[syndicated profile] musthavecute_feed - Must Have Cute, items of adorableness available for purchase
arduinna: a tarot-card version of Linus from Peanuts, carrying a lamp as The Hermit (Default)
[personal profile] arduinna
tomato_nation_feed -- Tomato Nation, Sarah Bunting's blog (Sars, formerly of TWoP before the Bravo buyout). Books/tv/movie reviews, baseball, cats, and a kickass weekly advice column.

tn_comments_feed -- The comments are pretty active, and are at least half the fun (especially on the advice columns).
rydra_wong: 19th-C strongwoman and trapeze artist Charmion flexes her biceps while wearing a marvellous feathery hat (strength -- strongwoman)
[personal profile] rydra_wong
[syndicated profile] gubernatrix_feed -- an "all-round strength training" blog: women's strength, functional fitness, powerlifting, pretty kettlebells, unusual exercises …
[syndicated profile] stumptuous_feed -- the latest from Stumptuous, the site on weight training for women.
[syndicated profile] davemacleod_feed -- advice on training for rock climbing from a top climber who's also a sports scientist.
[syndicated profile] gymrats_feed -- a feed of the LJ [livejournal.com profile] gymrats comm.

(We can haz a "sports" or "fitness" tag?)
ellarien: sunspot (astronomy)
[personal profile] ellarien
I created [syndicated profile] solarcycle24_feed for the updates on new sunspots, flares and so forth from the site http://www.solarcycle24.com. As the new solar cycle gets going after a long minimum, there's more to see than there's been for a while. (Remember, don't look at the Sun directly!)

I created feeds for the following blogs:

[syndicated profile] knowledgeatwharton_feed - From the Wharton business school, commentary, discussions and segments on business and economic topics.

[syndicated profile] nielsen_online_feed - Study reports on online, mobile and other media use.

[syndicated profile] colbertreportonlj_feed - LJ community discussing the Colbert Report.

[syndicated profile] spn_heavymeta_feed - Meta community for Supernatural on LJ.
[syndicated profile] spn_roundtable_feed - Recs and discussion community for Supernatural on LJ.

[syndicated profile] supernatural_tv_feed - News community for Supernatural on LJ.

The Supernatural TV feed has not yet updated on DW which may indicate a problem. I notice the Crack Impala feed listed in the Top 1000 feeds has also not updated. Does anyone have a working feed link?

If you read Sharon Stiteler the Birdchick or Julie Zickefoose, birder, NPR commentator, and owner of the greatest Boston Terrier EVAR, Chet Baker, you can now read them here at Dreamwidth:

The Birdchick
The Zick

I'd also like to recommend the feed for A Voice in the Wilderness, the blog of Anglican solitary and spiritual writer Maggie Ross. Ross, who wrote several penetratingly discerning books on spirituality in the 1980s, particularly Pillars of Flame: Power, Priesthood, and Spiritual Maturity, continues to offer an insider's cogent critique of the Anglican churches and their liturgy, spirituality, and polity, mixed with often breathtaking nature writing. No matter what your spiritual identity, she's well worth a read.

Media Indigena, kind of like those planet collections of blogs for techies? Only this time, it's for Native/Aboriginal/Indigenous/Native American/Onkwehon:'we.

You'll figure it out.

:D
ar: A cartoony drawing of me playing a guitar and singing. (self - is an ar!)
[personal profile] ar
[syndicated profile] heyoscarwilde_feed showcases different artists' interpretations of literary characters, authors, and so on. Some examples I think are pretty neat include Edgar Allan Poe by Nathan Stapley, Rod Serling by Scott Campbell, and Lord of the Flies by Sam Weber.

It's pretty cool, you should probably check it out.
ar: Sam and Joon from the movie Benny and Joon embrace. (benny&joon - embrace)
[personal profile] ar
A variety of feeds that I've made over the last few months (at least, I'm pretty sure I made all these--if not, I do at least think they're good!):

Book-related
[syndicated profile] judge_a_book_feed - Judge A Book By Its Cover collects terrible book covers and snarks them.
[syndicated profile] queryshark_feed - The Query Shark reads query letters for people interested in submitting manuscripts to publishers and notes what's wrong with them. Very useful and entertaining.
[syndicated profile] trappedintheattic_feed - Trapped in the Attic mocks V.C. Andrews books in an almost frighteningly detailed way. Author is on hiatus but coming back soon, and in the meantime, archives include a complete snark of My Sweet Audrina.

Comics-related
[syndicated profile] amazingspiderads_feed - The Amazing Spider-Ads blog, collecting ads that ran in Marvel Comics over the years.
[syndicated profile] scottmeetsfamcircus_feed - Scott Meets Family Circus, an occasionally-updated collection of Family Circus comics with extra panels including the titular Scott.
[syndicated profile] snowflakes_feed - Snowflakes, a M-W-F comic strip about orphans. Enjoyable for all ages.

Et cetera
[syndicated profile] awkward_boners_feed - Awkward Boners, a blog specializing in pictures of cocks in inopportune places. Not entirely work-safe, though penises are always covered by some kind of fabric.
[syndicated profile] babynamewizard_feed - The blog of Laura Wattenberg, author of The Baby Name Wizard (which is basically the best new thing to come out for names in the entirety of the last decade). Good discussion of names and American society; would definitely recommend glancing at it if you're interested in either subject.
[syndicated profile] coverlaydown_feed - Cover song downloads, all by folk artists. Tends to be interesting, updates regularly.
[syndicated profile] tackyweddings_feed - Tacky Weddings shows off pictures of--well, tacky weddings. Hasn't updated for a bit, but always a treat when it does.

These are three official NaNoWriMo updates.

[syndicated profile] nano_breaking_news_feed News about the site and and advice on gearing up for a month of novel writing.
[syndicated profile] nano_qanda_feed Interviews with people who have unusual or exemplary NaNo-related story
[syndicated profile] nanowrimo_video_feed Video podcast

P.S. Can we get a writing tag?

Apparently I'm the only international news junkie around here or something. Most of these I just created (from the news agencies' own preferred sources given on their own pages); a few already existed. (And yes, this binge is directly related to LJ having feed-fail this week and DW getting reading filters up; I'd been lazy about full migration here until now. Thanks Dreamwidth!)
